ValidPass was born with a truffle hunters’ association in Catalonia, to solve a specific problem: letting rural agents and landowners check cards in the woods without calling anyone.
How it helps
- Reserves and estatesEach member has the reserves where they may forage. Whoever scans the card sees them straight away.
- Foraging periodsThe periods of the season. The card says whether today is within one.
- Quick checksNo apps or passwords: just the phone camera. If the QR code won’t scan, use the member number and ID number.
- Renewing is marking the feeThe card stays the same year after year: mark who has paid the fee and you’re done.

Frequently asked questions
What if there’s no signal in the woods?
We’ve planned for it. The checker can compare the ID document with the card and call the board, or take a photo of the QR code and check it later: the card page shows whether it was valid at that date and time. The page is also very light and opens even with one bar of signal.
Do we need to install an app?
No. The checker uses their phone camera, like with any QR code. The board signs in from a browser, on a computer or a phone.
Can we have our own card design?
Yes. You can make it with the board’s editor, starting from a template with your logo and colours, or we can design it for you. Cards can be made in PVC, at a print shop or on paper.
